Major Entertainment Corporation seeks a Director, Business and Legal Affairs for the Legal department. Position will draft agreements and/or contracts as needed, including those for EST and VOD licenses, wireless/Internet content production and licensing agreements, online games development and distribution agreements, and rights acquisitions and services agreements. Work in conjunction with various departments to identify and address legal and business issues related to deployment of digital products and services, including rights, availabilities and clearance issues, guild and residual issues, proper application of digital rights management and anti-piracy measures and appropriate advertising and promotional guidelines. Provide business and legal services for the division, including negotiation and review of contractual obligations, film clip licensing, residuals, rights and clearance research, and contract administration. Provide legal support to the division’s new direct-to-consumer web-based business, including the negotiation of vendor contracts and various website agreements and advice on operational matters relating to the website and internet based marketing programs. Advise marketing group in division on legal and clearance issues with respect to proposed marketing campaigns; review and/or draft marketing agreements with licensing partners. Provide advice on privacy related matters, especially issues related to data collection and retention through programs and promotions on the website.
